Naval Academy Ezhimala(NAVAC) is located at in the Kannur (Cannanore) District of Kerala, which forms a part of its North Malabar Region. Nestled between the imposing Mount Dilli, serene Kavvayi backwaters and majestic Arabian Sea, NAVAC provides an idyllic setting for training with its picturesque and tranquil environment. This is the premier training establishment of the Indian Navy and will conduct the basic training for all officers being inducted into the Indian Navy under various schemes. INS Zamorin is the base depot ship for administrative and logistic support for NAVAC.

Applications are invited from unmarried candidates for Short Service Commission (SSC) in the Technical Branches (General Service) / Submarine Cadre & Naval Architecture cadre of the Indian Navy for Course commencing July 2011 at NAVAC Ezhimala, Kerala. Candidates to fulfil condition of nationality as laid down by the Government of India.
Eligibility conditions:
Applicant should be studying B.E/B.Tech in recognised university with one of the following disciplines and should have obtained a minimum of 60 % aggregate marks.

Physical standard
The candidates must be physically fit according to following physical standards:-
(a) Height and Weight. Minimum height - 157cms for men and 152 cms for women with correlated weight.
(b) Eye Sight.
Technical Branch General Service./Submarine Cadre : 6/24, 6/24 correctable to 6/6 in each eye with glasses.
Submarine Cadre : 6/60 correctable to 6/6, 6/12 with glasses.
Selection Procedure : Short listed candidates will be called for Service Selection Board (SSB) interviews. SSB interviews for Short-listed candidates will be scheduled during 2010 Nov to 2011 May at Bangalore, Bhopal or Coimbatore. The SSB interview is conducted for a period of five days in two stages. Stage-1includes Intelligence test, Picture perception test & Group discussion and is conducted on the first day. The candidates who qualify Stage-1 are made to appear for Stage-2 and the rest are sent back on the same day. The Stage-2 includes Psychological tests, Group Tasks and personal interview conducted over . On successful completion of training you will be commissioned as Sub Lieutenant.
Candidates will be inducted as officers in the rank of Sub Lieutenant and undergo Naval Orientation Course at the Indian Naval Academy (INA), Ezhimala, Kerala followed by professional training at various Naval Training Establishments/Units/Ships
