Intel Higher Education Program collaborates with reputed technology and research institutions in the country to improve the quality of engineering education, research and technology innovation. In India the program has impacted close to 20000 engineering students and more than 2000 faculties and researchers from 300 plus engineering institutions
In an effort to spur ideation and innovation among engineering students, interested individuals & entrepreneurs from all over India in the areas of embedded technology, Intel India is hosting a national level competition called as "Intel India Embedded Challenge 2011" with an objective to explore the endless possibilities of embedded applications based on Embedded Intel Architecture and inspire the vast technically savvy community in India to architect, design and develop novel embedded applications in areas such as – Consumer Electronics, Digital Security Surveillance, Medical, Storage & others
Apart from winning great cash prizes (Overall INR: 13, 50,000/) as seed fund for their technology solutions, selected participants receive hardware / software support and mentoring from Intel Technologists and also get an opportunity to participate in The Next Big Idea - a Technology Entrepreneurship contest jointly conducted by Intel, Department of Science and Technology and Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore and Mentoring Support will also be provided for winning team for business plan development
