Prasar Bharti Recruitment 2013 - 1630 Engineer and Tech

Prasar Bharti Recruitment 2013 Details:
Prasar Bharti issues notice for recruitment of young and skilled personnel in its offices on posts of Engineering Assistant & Technician. There are 1630 vacancies on various posts. Out of 1630 vacancies, 1290 vacancies are for the post of Engineering Assistants (post code A) on a pay scale of Rs.9300-34800 with a grade pay of Rs. 4200. 659 posts of Engineering Assistants are of unreserved category and rest are reserved for SC (201 Posts), ST (135 Posts), OBC (295 Posts) and PWD (37 Posts). For the post of technicians, 340 vacancies are available on pay scale of Rs.5200-20200 with grade pay of Rs. 2400. 181 Posts are of Unreserved category rest are reserved for SC (54 Posts), ST (34 Posts), OBC (71 Posts), PWD (7 Posts) and ex service men (35 Posts).  All these posts will be filled after the exam conducted by SSC.


Eligibility Criteria:

Age Limit
  • The maximum age limit for the post of Engineering Assistant is 30 Years as on 01-01-2013 and for Technician is 25 Years. Relaxation in age will be given to candidates of reserved category as per Government reservation rules.
Educational Qualification : qualification for both the posts are as under –
  • Engineering Assistant – A candidate applying for Engineering Assistant post should have 3 year diploma or degree in Radio /Telecommunication /Electrical /Electronics/ Information Technology /Electronics and Communication Engineering from a recognized University or Institute Or a degree in physics from a recognized university. Knowledge of wireless radio engineering will be added advantage.
  • Technician – a candidate applying for the post of technician should have 10+2 passed certificate from any recognized board with a diploma of at least 2 years from any recognized university or institute in Electronics/Telecommunication Engineering.

Selection Process 
  • Staff selection commission will conduct written examination for selection of candidates on both posts. Written examination will be of two papers consisting of 200 marks each. Interview of 100 marks will be taken for candidates applying for the post of Engineering Assistant. The evaluation of second paper will be made of candidate who qualifies in cut off marks of paper first. The candidate having scores more than cut off marks of second paper will be called for interview. Written examination will be conducted on various centers across country on 26-05-2013. Final selection of candidates will be made on basis of 200 marks of written paper and 100 marks of interview.
