 Air Force Common Admission Test (AFCAT 02/2012)

Name of Branch & Eligibility 
Flying Branch:
Qualification: Graduates (Three year Degree Course) in any discipline from a recognized university who have attained minimum 60% marks in aggregate in all parers put together and passed Maths and Physics at 10+2 level OR BE/ B.Tech degree (Four year course) from a recognized university with minimum 60% marks in aggregate in all papers put together.
Age: 19-23 Yrs as on 01 July 2013 (Born between 02 July 1990 and 01 July 1994 (Both dates inclusive)
Physical Standards: Height & Weight: Minimum height: 162.5 cms with correlated weight and leg length in the range of 99 cms (Min) and 120 cms (Max). Thigh Length : 64 cms. (Max.), Sitting Height: 96 cms (Max). Vision: without Glasses: 6/6, 6/9. Myopia-Nil.

Note: Candidates who failed the Pilot Aptitude Battery Test in an earlier attempt OR a Flight Cadet suspended from flying training of Air Force Academy will not be eligible to apply.


Technical Branch:
Qualification: i) Aeronautical Engineer (Electronics): BE/ B.Tech with minimum 60% marks OR cleared Section A & b examination of Associate membership of Institute of Engineers by actual studies and must studied any eight subjects from the 18 subjects listed below.
(L1 Physics/ Engineering Physics, L2 Mathematics/ Engg Mathematics L3 Engg Graphics/ Engg Drawing L4 Electrical Engg/ Technology L5 Control Engg, L6 Microprocessors, L7 Digital Electronics/ Basic Electronics L8 Computer Networks L9 Information Technology L10 Network Theory Design, L11 Telecommunication systems, L12 Electronic Circuit Design, L13 radar Theory, L14 Switching Theory, L15 Instrumentation, L16 Microwave Engg, L17 Antenna and Wave propagation, L18 Electronic Devices)
ii) Aeronautical Engineer (Mechanical): BE/ B.Tech with minimum 60% marks OR cleared Section A & b examination of Associate membership of Institute of Engineers by actual studies and must studied any eight subjects from the 18 subjects listed below.
(M1 Physics/ Engg physics, M2 Mathematics/ Engg Mathematics, M3 Engg Graphics/ Engg Drawing, M4 Automotive Engg/ Plant Engg/ Industrial Engg, M5 Engg mechanics/ Strengt of material, M6 Aerodynamics, M7 Thermodynamics and applications/ Heat Power Engg, M8 Heat and mass transfer, M9 Theory of machines (Kinematics and Dynamics of Machinery), M10 Fluid Mechanics/ Turbo Machines, M11 Flight mechanics, M12 Machine Drawing/ Machine Design, M13 Mechatronics, M14 Material Science/ metallurgy, M15 Vibrations, M16 Workshop Technology/ Manufaturing Technology/ Production Engg, M17 Hydraulics and Pnematics, M18 Aircraft structures.
Age: 18-28 yrs as on 01 July 2013 (Born between 02 July 1985 to 01 July 1995)
Physical Standard: Height & Weight: Minimum Height: 157.5 cms with correlated weight.


Ground Duty Branches:
Qualifications: Administration & Logistics: Graduate Degree in any discipline with minimum 60% marks in aggregate of all papers put together or a Post Graduate Degree/ Diploma in any discipline with minimum 50% marks in aggregate of all papers put together (Age Limit: 20-23 Yrs)

Accounts: B. Com with minimum 60% marks in aggregate of all papers put together or M. Com/ CA/ ICWA with minimum 50% marks in aggregate of all papers put together (Age Limit: 20-25 Yrs)
Meteorology: M.Sc in any Science Stream/ Maths/ Stati/ Geography/ Computer Applications/ Environmental Sciences/ Applied Physics/ Oceanography/ Meteorology/ Agricultural Meterology/ Ecology & Environment/ Geo-Physics, Environmental Biology with minimum 50% marks in aggregate of all papers put together  (Provided Maths and physics were studied at Graduation level with minimum of 55% marks in both) (Age Limit: 20-26 Yrs)
Education: Post Graduate in any discipline with minimum 50% marks in aggregate of all papers put together (Age Limit: 20-27 Yrs)
Physical Standard: Height & Weight: Minimum Height: 157.5 cms with correlated weight.

Note: Candidates appearing in final year/ semester examination may also apply for all the courses commencing in July 2012, provided they must fulfil the following conditions:  a) Candidates should not have any present backlog at the time of SSB Testing b) Candidates should be able to provide provisional/ original degree certificate issued by the university latest by 15 June 2013.
